Top Ten Last Minute Things To Get From Amazon For Your Disney Trip

So you’re heading to Disney very soon. You are a bundle of excitement mixed with anxiety. You’ve been checking lists and planning this trip for a long time, but you’re also worried you won’t have something you need. We’ve got you covered with this list of top ten must haves for your Disney trip. Plus, they’re all available on Amazon which means they will arrive just in time!

10 – Carabiners

Carabiners are one of those things that are handy to have all the time, but at Disney they can feel especially useful. If you purchase a refillable resort mug, you’re going to need a place to store it after it’s empty while you’re walking around the park. Even reusable water bottles still need a place to be stored, and if you’re using the ever popular Loungefly bags it can be difficult to find space. Clip your beverage container on your backpack! Bought a bunch of souvenirs and now need to carry them all on the bus while wrangling your kids? Clip all the bags together or even clip them on your backpack to free up your hands! You can even clip your Minnie Mouse ears on your bag if you get tired of wearing them. Carabiners are exceptionally useful towards the end of your day when you inevitably have more stuff to carry or have a stroller you need to empty and fold up.

Get a set to keep on-hand and clip one to your park bag in to be prepared!

9 – Pop-Up Hamper

With the intense heat and pouring rain, you may find your family going through more clothes than usual while on vacation. Laundry can pile up quickly – especially when you have four or five people in one small hotel room! A pop-up hamper folds up compact to fit in your suitcase and provides an easy way to control the clutter. By ensuring you put all your laundry in a basket you can stay organized and avoid those dreaded lost socks under the bed that get left behind! I actually like to pack two of them so the kids and the grown ups each have one, which makes repacking at the end of the trip much simpler. I recently learned of another fabulous use for the pop-up hamper which is as a garbage can! Bring a kitchen size trash bag with you and hook it on the hamper to provide a larger trash receptacle for your room. The garbage cans in the rooms are quite petite and fill quickly, so I am very excited about trying out this idea!

Buy one to test it out!

Buy a pair if you have kids or want to try the garbage can suggestion!

8 – Rain Poncho

Florida is known as the “sunshine state” yet many guests are surprised to learn that it rains there almost every day! Rain storms often appear suddenly out of nowhere and pass quickly, but when they arrive they are forceful and heavy. Bringing a rain jacket won’t keep you entirely protected, but a poncho will have the ability to cover you and your park bag! Ponchos are lightweight and fold up compact for storage, which means they are easy to keep on you for spontaneous storms. Disposable models are extremely thin, tear easily, tough to keep the hood on, and make you sweaty – it’s like wearing plastic wrap. A reusable poncho is breathable, larger, adjustable, and comfortable. Disney does sell ponchos in the parks when it rains, but they are difficult to store for reuse. If you have small children there are no poncho options available for them in the parks, so plan ahead and bring your own!

7 – Handheld Fan

No matter the time of year you are visiting, Florida is hot. The wide stretches of concrete under the blazing sun makes it feel even more so. We tried the neck fans and well, they just weren’t cool – literally. These handheld fans offer a surprisingly high power wind and a long battery lifespan. (Don’t forget to get a power bank to recharge on the go when needed!) Bonus is that these fans are compact enough to fit in a park bag or even a hip pack!

Stay cool with this high-powered compact fan!

6 – Wet Bag

The pools at Disney resorts are not to be missed! If you plan on swimming during your stay, chances are you will find that your suit is not dry in time for your journey home. Even if you don’t go swimming, rides like Splash Mountain or Kali River Rapids might leave you a little drenched. A wet bag will store any soggy items while protecting the rest of your belongings. Just don’t forget to unpack the wet bag when you get home – it can get mildewy very quickly! Plus, a wet bag is very important for storing and transporting this next item when visiting the parks…

Buy a wet bag to protect the rest of your stuff!

5 – Cooling Towels

It is very easy to overheat at Disney. The intense Florida sun combined with all the hot concrete and miles of walking can be dangerous. Children especially don’t understand when they are overheating. Cooling towels are the quickest and most effective way to cool down! We went years without using them and finally took the plunge to see what they were all about. Wow, what a difference they make! Our kids were quickly wilting in the heat, but after we popped a towel on their neck they brightened right up. I recommend wetting them in the sink at your resort before you leave for the day and putting them in a wet bag to transport – you can even toss in some ice to ensure they are extra cool. Then the cooling towels will be ready to use right when you need them and you won’t be trying to hunt down a bathroom, fountain, or water.

Get some immediate relief from the hot weather – especially great for children!

4 – Blister Bandages

Even the most comfortable shoes can cause blisters when you’re walking 20,000 steps in a day! Keep a few blister bandages in your park bag for when you inevitably find yourself limping along through the parks. What makes these better than regular bandages or moleskin? They are padded for comfort and medicated to provide healing. Your feet will thank me!

Stock up on these cushioned and healing bandages!

3 – Chafing Sticks

There is a lot of walking at Disney, which means a lot of friction and movement that your body may not be used to. While chafing can happen anywhere you may find your arms, thighs, wrists, and feet are the most common. A chafing stick will help eliminate any potential issues and soreness. I recommend putting it on each day in the areas you know or foresee being an issue as it’s much easier to prevent than try to heal after it’s started. I love to keep a mini version in my park bag to have on hand in case it wears off – especially after a water ride.

I’ve found that the Megababe option lasts the longest and I don’t usually have to reapply during the day!

Body Glide or Foot Glide are also good options and come in smaller sizes that fit in your park bag!

2 – BitBelts

Magicbands are extremely useful and our family loves them, but they do have a tendency to unfasten and fall off. Bitbelts are silicone loops that keep your Magicband secure. They can be worn on any band no matter if you have it on one of the smaller settings or larger. We have been using them for years now and have not lost a band since! If you modify a Magicband to be smaller by removing the outer strap layer, the standard Bitbelts will not work and you will need the Junior sized option. However, we actually recommend leaving the band intact for small children as you cannot undo this as they grow. Simply use the standard Bitbelt to make it small enough for little wrists!

Keep your Magicband or Magicband+ safe and secure with regular BitBelts!

Buy the Junior version if you choose to remove the outer layer to make the band smaller!

1 – Power Bank

Between taking photos, reserving Lightning Lanes, Mobile Ordering, Magicband+, handheld fans, and more, you will be using a lot of electronic devices throughout the day. I often found my battery dwindling down to 20% by merely midafternoon, desperately needing a recharge to make it through the day. A power bank will provide a fast boost when you aren’t necessarily able to pause and plug into an outlet. Just make sure you have all the cables you need to connect to your devices!

Fuel Rods are a popular option, but I actually don’t recommend them. There are a few reason why (which I will cover in another post), but the main one is that they don’t have as large of a charge capacity – especially for the cost.

Get a powerful and fast recharge for your devices at a reasonable price!

This one gave me two full mobile phone charges and still had a bit more to give. Typically, I only needed one boost in a day, but occasionally would need a second. I did plug my phone in at the resort when we took a midday break. Bear in mind that I am taking a lot of photos and videos for this blog plus using the parks app, which may be more use than the average guest.

What You MIGHT Want:

Water Bottle

If you’re not planning to purchase the resort refillable mug, don’t drink much soda, prefer water, or want to save some money – bring a reusable water bottle. There are two main options I recommend: collapsible or insulated. Which you choose depends on your personal preference or drinking style. You can obtain free water at any dining location or use drinking fountains to refill. Be aware that water in Florida is going to taste different than what you have at home and can even vary by location within Disney’s property. Because of this, many guests opt for a filtered water bottle or the use of flavor tablets.

Keep your drinks cool with an insulated bottle! This one works wonders, has a variety of Disney patterns, and offers various sizes perfect for kids and adults!

If you’re concerned about space, get a collapsible water bottle that you can even clip onto your park bag!

Buy a filtered water bottle if you’re picky about how your water tastes!

Epsom Creams and Soaks

Your feet will be tired… and then you’ll get up and keep going the next day and the next. Help refresh your feet with epsom salts! Dave swears by soaks in the tub at the end of the day, but I’d rather massage a foot cream into my tootsies. I have only used them a few times so I can’t definitively say how much they help as of yet, but many claim it has a huge impact. We will update here as we find out more!

Buy some epsom creams for a relieving foot massage!

Relax with epsom salt soaks at the end of each day!

Note On Footwear

You absolutely need a comfortable pair of shoes! However, don’t buy something last minute as you will need time to break them in. Don’t make the mistake of wearing brand new footwear to the parks! We did that once, never again. So many blisters, so much pain. I do recommend bringing at least two pairs of shoes, with one of them being waterproof or quick-dry. Footwear for Disney can make or break your trip, so I will cover this one more extensively in another post to come!
